Armenia’s Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s spokesperson, Arman Yeghoyan, has commented on Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s most recent statement on why Pashinyan was not raising the matter of weapons supply to Azerbaijan before Russia, too.

“Addressing Mr. Lukashenko’s statement, I consider it necessary to make several important notes,” Yeghoyan told Armenpress. “Sadly, Mr. Lukashenko continues the practice of publicizing the content of closed meetings.

“Sadly, Mr. Lukashenko has publicized—from yet another closed meeting—solely what he himself had said, and has not publicized what responses he received from the [acting] Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.

“During discussions with the Russian president—including, in particular, at the meeting mentioned by Mr. Lukashenko—[Acting] Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has always raised the problematic matter of weapons being sold to Azerbaijan by Russia.

“Armenia is set to continue discussions within the framework of the CSTO, toward ensuring the complete fulfillment of mutual allied obligations of the member countries of the organization.”
