Cholera Outbreaks in Central and West Africa: 2018 Regional Update - Week 26 [EN/FR]

Highlights:

Nigeria: at W25, 828 cases were reported from 12 States. A National Emergency Operations Centre has been activated, and Rapid Response Teams deployed in Kano, Bauchi, Plateau, Zamfara, and Adamawa States.

Cameroon: between May 18th-July 9th, 38 cases (5 confirmed) and 4 deaths were reported from the North (see p. 2)

D. R. Congo: more than 500 cases reported at W25 and 26, despite an overall low completeness. The Grand Kasaï region gathers almost half of the total reported cases with a high lethality (see p. 2).

Congo: 1 and 5 suspected cases at W25 and 26 from Brazzaville Dept. 1 was tested negative while other results are pending

Faits saillants :

Nigéria : A S25, 828 cas ont été rapportés dans 12 Etats. Un Centre National d’Opérations d’Urgences a été activé, et des équipes de réponses rapides déployées dans les Etats de Kano, Bauchi, Plateau, Zamfara, et Adamawa.

Cameroun : entre le 18 Mai-9 Juillet, 38 cas (5 confirmés) et 4 décès ont été rapportés au Nord (voir p. 2)

R. D. Congo : plus de 500 cas rapportés à S25 et 26, malgré une complétude globale assez faible. La région du Grand Kasaï rassemble près de la moitié des cas rapportés avec une forte létalité (voir p. 2).

Congo : 1 et 5 cas suspects rapportés à S25 et 26 dans le Dépt. de Brazzaville. 1 négatif tandis que les autres sont en attentes des résultats d’analyse.
