The March 12 post lists the 10 Best U.S. Mountain Bike Towns with the Lowest Cost of Living. Knoxville was fourth.

Greg Heil, editor in chief of the website, described Knoxville as "an up-and-coming mountain bike town" that he has watched closely since the Appalachian Mountain Bike Club won a $100,000 Bell Built Grant in 2015.

Legacy Parks announces construction of the state-of-the-art mountain bike park on the 100-acre wood property that is part of the Urban Wilderness. The trail project is funded by the $100,000 grant from Bell Helmets won last summer by the Appalachian Mountain Bike Club. The construction also coincides with the Professional TrailBuilder's Association's Annual Sustainable Trail Conference that will be held all week in Knoxville, March 5-11.

Those funds were used to build Devil's Racetrack, an extremely technical and professionally designed downhill trail mentioned by Heil as having "massive features."

The blog post also mentions Oliver Springs' Windrock Bike Park as being "super steep" with "burly DH runs."

Heil describes Knoxville as having "big city amenities" and a "reasonably-sized airport." He also states that it has the highest population of any other town selected on his list.
