Lexington to host annual Kentucky River Clean Sweep this Saturday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Volunteers are invited to take part in Lexington’s annual Kentucky River Clean Sweep this Saturday, June 21.
Participants will head out in boats to collect trash along the 12-mile stretch of the Kentucky River that borders Fayette County. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Kelley’s Landing on Old Richmond Road.
City canoes are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Trash bags, gloves, and a limited number of life vests will be provided.
Organizers encourage participants to bring their own canoes, kayaks, and life vests if possible.
The event is part of Lexington’s ongoing effort to promote environmental stewardship and protect local waterways.
