With Jayson Shaw defending his championship after defeating Polish phenom Wiktor Zielinski in last year's final, all 10 of the world's top players in the nineball rankings will participate, along with 29 of the top 32 players worldwide.

Along with world champion and current number one Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, Joshua Filler, Shane van Boening, UK Open champion Eklent Kaci, Fedor Gorst, the recent winner of the World Pool Masters, and snooker star Gary Wilson, will also be present.

Furthermore, World Nineball Tour pundits Karl Boyes and Jeremy Jones will be dropping their microphones and dusting off their cues, as both former major champions prepare to compete.

Double elimination will be used at the Scottish Open until there are 16 players left, at which point single elimination will be used. There will be winner breaks throughout, a race-to-ten racks format, and a race-to-eight on the one-loss side.

Coverage will be broadcast on the Scottish Cuesports Live Streaming YouTube channel throughout the five days, while selected matches will be shown on the Matchroom Pool YouTube channel.
